So do any of you watch Glenn Beck? if so what do you think of his argument?
Yea. Which argument are you referring ?
I watch and listen. He makes some good points on some issues. I do think the constitution is being pushed aside by the present administration. Just my 2 cents.
I listen to Glenn Beck and also agree that our Constitution is being trampled on. Actually there is not much I disagree with him on. His new book just came out for those of you that like to read....Arguing with Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government
It can be purchased at Wal-Mart among many other locations.

I listen to him.
Who? Who's that?
Yep, I try to catch his program most days. If I didn't agree with most of what he says I wouldn't bother to watch.
do any of you get his free news letter? What do you think about the whitehouse going after Fox news? How do you feel about all the commies Obama has around him?
I get his newsletter and read it as often as I can. As for the whitehouse going after fox it doesnt surprise me any. From what I have seen this administration will go after anyone that allows a voice to be spoken against what it is trying to sell the people. And as for commies, well I was raised by a WWII vet who fought with Patton (Dad was a tank jockey) and he didnt like commies very much and to be honest I am not a fan of socialism in any form. just my 2 cents worth!
Careful now. Your survey has been done, but delving into your next few questions will cause the thread to be locked down.
I watch Beck almost daily, and most often agree with him. (Not always crazy about his style, though.)
Ah, yes. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press. That was the topic of a commencement speech I gave in 1974. We needed it back then. We need it now more than ever.
I watch/listen to him occasionally, entertaining guy. I think I'm actually more partial to Michael Savage.
Of course, I don't agree with either of them 100% of the time.
I don't watch too many of them. Let's face it, they are also about ratings. They are hardly balanced reporting. Odd that folks who don't trust the "media" would trust what guys like Beck or Limbaugh say.
I guess the difference is you can get through a lot of news from different sources in the time it takes to listen to one of them. (shrug)
Glenn, Rush, Sean, Boortz, Laura Ingrahm, etc. You're right that they have an idiological view point, but aside from the parody's and kidding around - are they wrong? The interesting thing I find about talk radio is that the intelectually honest hosts stand up to their critics - those in the media, and those that call into the shows. If their points of view were proven wrong I doubt they would be as popular as they are.
Certainly more balanced than the lame stream media! They never picked up the story on ACORN until the congress defunded them. They also didn't jump on the congress for saying that "it was too difficult to post the medical bill on the web for all to see" . So who is actually doing the reporting of news here? They have had no problem giving this administration a pass on everything where as FOX had no problem slamming Bush when he was wrong. Don't bother puting Hannity in the same boat as the others as he is a hack for the republicians.
Maybe they trust Beck because he is simply asking valid questions of this administration, questions most of us would like answered factually! Where the "media" has NOT been the watch dog of the people for a long, long time.
Opinions vary.
'Xactly my point.
I was referring to Hannity, but I know what you mean.
Gee. My 22 year old rap music lovin' anti-establishment daughter would box anyone's ears if she heard 'em say anything unkind about Hannity. :innocent:
I listen to GB. He is very entertaining. He has alot of good points. I love the way he pokes fun at himself and those who don't like him. I listen to him and ORielly. I think they are the two who are least biased when it comes to reps and dems. They argue about the flaws on both sides. Hannity and Savage are a little extreme IMO. Rush is very informative and I like to listen to him.
This could all be a mute point if the FCC gets their way. The goal is to do away with talk radio in favor of localized venues. Stay tuned. It could get interesting.
That's a very good question. I suppose only Mark Lloyd knows the real answer to that one. I think the FCC will be undertaking a major shift in the next few years and it won't necessarily be a good one.
Oh wait.....I have an idea! (How many of you, just said "oh shi*, here we go.)
How about if every show, TV or radio, has to announce at the beginning of every show, and after every commercial, whether that show is news(fact), or entertainment(opinion).
Then if any show that claims to be news(fact), is caught airing "facts" that are wrong or misleading, they lose their license.
...and I also think that if you are claiming to be news, and you are caught not reporting certain facts, in order to sway the public's opinion of a person or policy, you should lose your license.
Well, something similar is under consideration. Lloyd wants to redistribute broadcast licenses. That would take the platform away from folks like Beck, Limbaugh, etc and give the license to newer local stations. His words..."...conservative talk radio dominates the airwaves of our country to the detriment of informed public discourse and the First Amendment."
Personally, that's what I thought the first amendment was about but what do I know?
You all know me. I'm not a conspiracy pundit. In fact, I'm a self-proclaimed sheeple. But this new guy at the FCC scares the bejessus even out of me.
Here's a write up on him for those that don't know him.

He's a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. Maybe you know it by its initials...CAP. Dangerous folks right there.
'Xactly correct. His boss at CAP was John Podesta. Ring any bells? He headed Obama's transition team. Chief of Staff for Clinton.
Let's see.....nope. Not me. Money, power and threats is pretty much what keeps me going.
Oh alright. I'll do it. Muhahahahaha!
I was in Crash's office last week and he already had a name plate made up. King Crash......just sayin'.
