Ken the lobsters arrived. blah, blah, blah.
Who's checkin' the checkers? That's what I want to know!
Here ya go.
Ding Dong
Crash: [not opening the door] Yes?
Voice: (mumbling) Mr. Submareierener?
Crash: What?
Voice: (mumbling) Mr. CrackedDiver?
Crash: Who is it?
Voice: [pause] Flowers.
Crash: Flowers for whom?
Voice: [long pause] Plumber, sir.
Crash: I don't need a plumber. You're that clever lobster shark, aren't you?
Voice: [pause] Candygram.
Crash: Candygram, my foot. You get out of here before I call the police. You're the lobster shark, and you know it.
Voice: Wait. I-I'm only a dolphin, sir.
Crash: A dolphin? Well...okay. [opens door] AAAAaaaaaahhhhhh!!!! My lobsters!!!!!!!!!!
are you guys seriously shippping food to each other? ship some cookies this way :)
All part of the Quality Control Department. I will be submitting a detailed review of the baked stuffed lobsters following consumption tomorrow. Remember....this is a public service that Ken and I have unselfishly offered the forum.
Crawfish are better. Atleast they're not on steroids.:p
I gained 22 pounds when I holidayed in Louisiana a couple years back. I ate etouffee everything, catfish etouffee being my favorite. I think I was the skinniest fat guy down there though - I can see why. :D
I dont think so, just sauce with crawfish tails in it. The best place we ate was in Lafayette at a cajun restaurant. Only thing I wasn't keen on was frogs legs.....not my cup of tea. Oh, and the only vegetables we could find in the entire state was corn cobs and sweet potato dripping with butter and brown sugar.
We toured the whole state in a motor home checking churches and graveyards looking for relatives when our family split back east and eating. Good times for sure.
Is that a typo then in your post where you say "catfish etouffee"? Only reason I ask is because (and especially the Lafayette area), most of what is done with catfish is either fried or catfish court bouillion or what's called a "sauce piquant".
Crawfish etouffee is easy to make. You can substitute shrimp, although it's not quite as tasty.
Cajun Swamp Hunter may be able to tell us what the standards are for that area. I think he is from that general area. My ancestors are from south of Lafayette, I grew up further southwest of there.
Man... I have to stay away from conversations about food...
OK guys and gals, here’s the review.
Items reviewed: Two 2 ½ lb baked, stuffed lobsters
Lobsters were shipped by Ken from the Venus de Milo Restaurant in Wansea, Massachusetts. In the brochure that came with the lobsters there was a quote fro Emeril Lagasse that said “The best baked stuffed lobster in Southern New England.” I’d have to say that Emeril was wrong. This was absolutely the best lobster that I have ever eaten. TDW agrees. You will note in the third picture that Wilderness Survival Forums are being paid homage. Thanks again Ken, they were great!
Crash!!! I'll trade you bbq for those!!! Man does that look good!
I'll let you negotiate that with Ken. But boy oh boy were they good.
(kicks chat) Well, the least you could do is post the recipe.
(mumbles to self) I still want to know who's checkin' the checkers. Ain't right.
No recipie needed. They came fully prepared. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes and eat. Man - I'm still full.
Man - I'm still full. Blah, blah, blah.
Apparently this whole thing was setup via PM. I find it wholly inappropriate for other younger members of the forum, and think it should be censored as vulgar and pornographic. It should be moved to PM. thhppppppt!
Hmmmmmmmm. It IS vulgar. That's true. And it is against the rules to BLATANTLY advertise and he did mention the name of the restaurant in passing. That's close enough to blatant for me.
How say you?
(crowd begins to chant) GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY!
Me thinks the delete button should be employed.
Yeah - when I re-read it that's what I figured. (Reason I deleted it). Actually pretty funny.
And so we have it. Another fine report from the dedicated members of the Quality Control Department.:)
Was that a hint of jealousy I sensed in some of the posts? Rick and Sapper?
Instead of crying, you guys should have THANKED Crash for his dedication and hard work. :p That poor guy slaved over that lobster just to perform a needed public service for the forum members.
I would be happy to post a few outstanding recipies for baked stuffed lobster. I make my own at least once a month. All you guys have to do is ask nicely, Rick.:D
Yea. Thanks Ken! Tasty lobster.
Rebel, please tell the ladies I'm setting a table for four. Lobsters will be done at 6:00 Monday evening. Any idea about their wine preferences? Perhaps a light Chardonay or a Reisling? ;)
They said " if your going to the trouble of stuffing the lobster the wine choice was yours".
GREAT! Beer it is!:D
What did I miss, Sapper?
There was a thread on dating age daughters and how to handle the boys. I posted a link to a video on youtube (which you didn't even have to register to view...) from Bad Boys II, the scene where the kid shows up at the house. If you search for Bad boys II on youtube it's the fourth or fifth one down. Crash tends to not like my choice of media that I link to, and this was no exception. He usually tells me that it's not kid friendly. So Rick censored the post. That was the reference that I was making about vulgar and should be censored. I threw in the pornographic bit for comedy, since the lobsters really did loo good. It was all in good fun.
however, you've missed a lot. A lot of arguing, teeth gnashing, misguided bigots, all kinds of stuff. Welcome home. :)
Thanks, Sapper. Drove down to D.C. (Actually, Virginia). Trip would have taken about 6 hours EXCEPT the 495 belt around D.C. was a parking lot that we sat in for 2 1/2 hours. Trip back was quicker, even with the stop in Baltimore for crab and oysters. Yep, it's all about the food.:D
Sorry Ken. Charley's angels said they wont play stuff the lobster for beer. Better luck next time.
I was actually thinking in terms of "stuff the Angels." With lobster, that is.:p
I'm sure it was a premium beer too! You're probably better off.
Corona, Heineken, Amstel, Blue Moon, Wachusett, Narraganset, Red Stripe, Kirin, Anchor Steam, Coors, Guinness, Pete's Wicked, Molson, Newport Storm, and other fine beers are all served here. :D
(Sorry, no Sam Adams. Local brew, but not for me.)

We can't say it here but, I'm guessing you wear a conservative tie. (?).
Sometimes. Depends on what's going on.
