private skating rink

I am the proud owner of an 8'x8' glassed in ice skating rink.I thought I had sut off all the outside water.All but one that is.On my way to the bus stop this afternoon I can hear running water coming from the side of the house.A walk around tells the story.I had forgotten to shut off the water to the green house. The sprayer nozzle froze and blew a chunck out the side where it screws into the hose.So if the temps stay the way they are now I should have close to 6" of nice smooth ice in a day or so.

Joe, install self draining outdoor sill faucets. I have 4 of these outside the house - the hot and cold version - first and third pics. The second pic is the cold only version. Just remember to disconnect any hoses attached, or the water has nowhere to drain.

Thats a great idea.Im also going to move the shut off valve in the basement to an easier to get to location.Where it is now is a pain to get to.

I have cold weather faucets installed. Very similar construction. The valve sits inside the house about 18 inches.
