Ya' know, what's funny? Lot's of folks send flowers around the holidays. FTD, Tele-Flora, all the rest. Back then, they credited the merchant's account 14-21 days after the sale was made. I bought the accounts receivable, AND THE BANK ACCOUNTS, when I bought the business.
So, I went to the shop's bank and temporarily froze all accounts. Then, I just walked in the door of that little flower shop with a sheriff at 4:00 on the 24th. Scooped everything, including the cash in the register. Let everyone go home early, and told the employees that we'd rehire them all the on 26th.
When the accounts receivable "arrived" in the first week of January, the amount was more than double what I paid the bank for the business. Since I'm no florist, I just signed the business over to my friend's wife.
Everyone was happy, happy, happy!
Except the former owners. :sneaky2:
