I just might have to buy one of these on payday and get all "cold steel" on it. Wonder how many baton blows it takes to snap the handle off?

I saw one of those last week at H.F. All I could do was laugh.
My eyes! My eyes! Get me a wet rag! Wipe that mess off the keyboard! Mac
Ya know, I thought they'd at least have machetes. NOPE! They didn't even have axes.
my friend saw my coldsteel srk the other day and fell in love with it. he told me he had a knife way cooler though and he busted out one of those wanna be rambo knives...i just felt bad for the guy haha.
Would you guys consider that the best all around survival knife? If not, why not? And what do you think is the best survival knife.
(I'm gonna sign on to hundreds of knife forums just to post that question. Hey! Everybody has to have goals.)
At 9.99 it's a ripoff. You will more than likely hurt yourself when the blade snaps off as you pull it from it's sheath.
As to best all around survival knife..... I have my favorites. And yes I have all of these!
1: Benchmade Bushmaster
2: Kershaw D2 Outlander
3: ColdSteel LTC
4: ColdSteel Master Hunter
5: Coldsteel SRK
6: Victorinox Hunter
7: leatherMan Charge Ti
Ummmm, errrr - I think that question was posed tounge in cheek.
Irony is so difficult in a forum environment. Here we have the latest technological means of communication and we have trouble communicating. Ironic, ain't it? Hey, that was easy. Maybe irony isn't so difficult after all. Wow! Even that was ironic.
Oh, yeah. That and the endless rain we're getting. We're under flash flood warnings, low lying ground flood warnings. Warnings about warnings. I can't even mow my yard let alone get a knife out to play with.
Any pocket knife, is a "survival" knife.
i think the query needs tighter parameters.
I actually bought one of those from HF. YES I knew it was junk before I bought it. I have seen worse. When my son was in Boy Scouts, many eons ago, one of the kids in his troop had one with a plastic handle.
For what it is, the one I got from HF has held up well. I actually bought it thinking to modify the blade as a spear tip. Carried in the BOB until needed the make the rest of the spear. The handle is held on by a single pin. Figured I would use it on an infrequent basis around the yard until I destroyed it. But, as of yet I have not managed to bust the handle loose from moderate use.
Don't get me wrong. It's still a piece of junk. And, even tho it's holding up well, not something that would ever trek anywhere with me.... :blushing:
I have a Harbor Freight Tools store a couple of miles down the road from me. I have never stopped in, But I have always been curious. Is all they sell junk, or is there goods buys there?
You can pick up some good stuff. They often have sales which make it even better. As with any store, check it out before you buy stuff so you know what you're getting.
I don't know. I think your parameters are already wound just a bit too tight. You might want to use that pocket knife to cut a stitch or two. You gotta lighten up, Howard. You'll hear the black choppers in plenty of time to hide. Besides, my troopers are really pretty good guys once you get to know 'em. Just watch the jackboots when they walk by. They're pretty heavy footed.Quote:

I was sure you were going to say you put the chain saw to it!
