I bought one today and was wondering if anyone else uses them, and are they any good , can you use it to boil water in ?

They work fine and you can boil water in them if you have to.
Looks like a Klean Kanteen. If so, I know people have been boiling in them with no drawbacks. I've been looking at a Guyot stainless steel bottle. It will hold 38 oz (2 less than the Klean Kanteen) but it is the right size so that Nalgene accessories will fit it along with a certain stainless steel cup will fit over the end.
Just don't wrap yer lips around it at -20F!

Well.....not being in the cold weather, one may not be accustomed to all of the warnings that those of you whom live in colder climates could offer. Without your sage words of wisdom, who knows what could happen. Just think of the flag pole scene in "A Christmas Story".
BTW - glad you're back around. Looks like you've settled well in AK.
Glad to be back Crash! I'm at work on our computer in the office. I'm working as a mechanic for the time being... just glad to have a source of income as so many do not at the moment. It's nice to have access to a shop and the owners are really laid back.
We're looking forward to moving back out to the woods ASAP though. This whole rent and pay for heat and electricity thing is for the birds! Can't wait to go and slay some salmon and halibut in the comming months. We just love it here!

I also found out why it says not to use for hot liquids, it blisters the fancy paint job.
Sand off the fancy paint as soon as it arrives......no need to worry about goobering it up later.:D
