There I was, home, all nice and cozy when I get the knock on the door.
I open the door to this guy who has had a snowmobile accident. He's not injured. However, he's cold, wet and says his machine is stuck. There is a snowmobile trail that follows the river. There are three springs that don't freeze and if you stay on the trail they are not a problem. Well, he didn't stay on the trail.
I leave him to dry off and take the four wheeler to have a look. I figure I'd better get it out or put a note on it so nobody thinks the owner is out there and calls in a rescue.
I find it with the front submerged. With the help of a couple passing snowmobilers we get it out with the four wheeler/winch. It had a broken tie rod. I drug it back to the house. They guy had to have his mom come pick him up.
While waiting for his mom we were able to converse about the incident. I said it was a good thing this didn't happen last week when it was -30 F. No response. I asked, did he carry a survival kit in case of a breakdown. (Sometimes you are miles from a home or road). Again, no response. He's angry about the trail and how it's not his fault. That was about it.
Can you guess this guys age? I'll tell you later tonight.
