I made this cooking system last week out of utensil holders from Wall Mart, Cost $14.00 The alcohol stove is made of two hiny cans and burns for 30+ min. Also burns wood very well. The lid also works as a small frying pan. Let me know what you think, This is work in progress.
Nice work. Having seen it in action I can attest to the fact that the beer can alcohol stove made it glow cherry red in fairly quick order.
Does the heni can hold up better than pop cans?
I tried to do a pop can stove, but didn't have the right tools to work with the thin aluminum

No Honey I am not drinking beer again. The Heni cans are Just for an emergency camp stove {:-)
It reminds me of the stove we used to make out of "C" rations cans. It looks like it should work out OK

What do you mean you didn't have the tools? To make an alcohol stove out of a pop can you need: scissors, thumb tack, hammer/rock/heavy pounding thing.Quote:

After seeing some examples of home-made "can stoves", I made one from a coffee can and then made two "can pots" from two different sized cans (the smaller can fits inside the larger can for transportation). I'll stow the whole thing in a canvas bag that I have... haven't used it yet... but I thought I'd share the photos... It took me a little less than an hour to make...

Oh, this stove will be used with woods, sticks, twigs, etc as fuel... I can put sticks in the bottom of the "big can", and have the "big can" sitting on its "base" in a coal fire if I wish. The slits/holes in the base & the holes in the "big can are for ventilation. The big hole, covered by a flexible tinfoil "cover", would be used to feed sticks, etc into the stove... the whole "stove" was made out of a regular size (34.5 oz) coffee can.
