I use a small pencil sharpener to obtain tinder even wet wood shaved til you get to dry part makes awesome tinder for fire lighting

I'm defiantly adding that to my kit! Thanks for the tip! But I doubt a pencil sharpener would last long. Maybe a good one would do the trick

.......or you could whitle away with your knife to make shavings of fuzz sticks.

A person could also pound wood like White Oak into duff and use it for tinder.
