59 year old female into reading about survival. Am attempting to get exercise by picking up sticks and tossing at imaginary squirrels. Having a battle with smoke in my neck of the woods. First time I googled American Beauty Berry the article I read said they were toxic and that birds wouldn't even eat them. My observations of them in my yard bore out this assessment. They went untouched by anything. Everything I have read since has been to the contrary.
