Bone Awl
Yesterday I found an old deer leg bone and i broke it between two rocks then carved it to a point with my knife. Once i had the point done I chiseled away some of it and started sanding it down. Then once I was done I hand drilled a hole and put in a strap of leather.Attachment 10630

Good idea.
Tried to punch any holes with it yet?

Well done. Man has a knack for tool making. You did exactly what Grog would have done 1 million or so years ago. Minus the chisel and knife of course.

I have I was able to bore through a 1/4 inch piece of wood with it and easily punch a hole through a piece of cardboard. I think that this will make a great addition to my kit.

Nice, ribs are easy to break and pre-bent, just go find any of the numerous hideless dear corpses some hunters like to chuck into creeks. (I used to live by one such drop site and had to push the deer down so they wouldn't stay and stink up the area) I even fell on top of one once and ended up arms deep in blue intestines and some other unidentifiable parts. not my best moment.

So deer hunters debone their kill in the woods? That's interesting.
