Cobra Braid Rifle Sling
I am about half way through a cobra braid rifle sling and this thing is kicking my butt and making me crazy.
I am trying to handle 14 strands as the core and 25 feet of cord on each side of the braid.
I finally got it coiled and secured with rubber bands but I keep getting the sequence of the loops crossed, have to untie it and do over.
I will get it done, eventually. :wheelchair:
This will give me a sling containing 94 feet of paracord on quick detachable swivels to be used on the project rifle and add to its capabilities.

14 strands? Yeah, I'd be crazy too.

Well......Bless you heart......That is a PITA....for me at least.
I did make a single cobra braid.....just a loooog bracelet w/swivels.....wasn't too bad....
Then tried a double braid and ended up doing two singles and kinda tying them together ever few stitches....... Then dropped down to a single to finish it off.....you can kinda see it in this pic.

I most likely won't make another one......Or take apart the ones I made.....
BUT
I did find a guy that kinda expanded on the idea of making a sling.......then covering it up with another layer.....that can be pulled out for other use.....leaving a sling intact.
Mailed him $40 bucks....and am happy with it.

I wound up finishing the 36" sling and doing a second cobra braid over the first for about half the length.
I figure that if I ever really need the cordage for stringing a shelter or such I will remove the 20' of 550 cord on the outside first.

.....yeah and still have the sling.......
I hear ya....
