My introduction.
Hows everybody doing? I just joined the forum because about a year from now I'm taking a 12-15 month hiking expedition around America. I plan to head south along the Appalachian Trail from Massachusettes to Maryland. then switching off to the Discovery Trail and heading west. Hiking was a recent adaptation to my plan of driving around the country for about a year before I join the military. But I've found the idea of hiking to be more cost effective, less stressful, and overall more satisfying.
In the next year I have a lot of preperation to do, research, and fundraising for quality equipment.

I admire a person that takes the time to do things well. In your time you'll be able to see a lot of this country, the culture and beauty of it and ponder your resolve. Live and fight well for we are worth it... you will see.
