if shtf, the inabilty to hit birds on the wing means nothing. you dare not let things get so critical that the loss (or gain) of any one critter means jack squat. they are all territorial, they all stop moving sometime, and they all can be trapped, snared, netted, bird "limed" on their roosts, caught on hook/line, poisoned, or shot with the subsonic .22 unit and silencer. So why bother with the shotgun, hmm? you can have fun hunting with your ccw pistol or the.22 unit in the fighting rifle. Survival or defense aint about fun.
