Might of got struck by poison oak or posion ivy

About a week ago I was walking on this trail and my arm brushed along these green plants. I first thought it was one of those sticker plants. Thats what it felt like. Right away I got a red patch on my arm and a bunch of bumps. It all went away in about 12 hours. Then it happened again a few days later whle hiking. But this time it got my other arm and right away I got 20 or 30 bumps on it. No redness that time though.

I doubt it was poison ivy. That does not go away in 12 hours and they generally aren't big enough to rub your arm unless it was oak or sumac. You get to live with that for a couple of weeks while it clears up. Stinging nettle, perhaps. They can get 1-2 meters tall and the itch is much shorter lived.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I just looked the stinging nettle up - http://bss.sfsu.edu/holzman/courses/...ect/nettle.htm. It looks alot like the plant that got me and it sounds like it causes the same symptoms I had.

By the way, Stinging Nettle is good to eat and makes a drink to cure diarrhea.
