Anker External Batteries
My life is getting more and more battery laden and it’s getting harder and harder to keep everything charged up at the same time. So I purchased an external battery pack. I chose the Anker Astro E5 15000mAh battery.
The battery has a USB DC 5V/2A output as well as a USB DC 5V/1A output and an L.E.D. Light. It weighs 11.1 ounces.
Part of the gear for my hearing aids runs on a rechargeable battery. It lasts for about 4 hours if I’m continuously blue tooth streaming and requires 3 hours to recharge using the OEM charger. When I use the 2A USB on the Anker it only takes 2 hours. That's a 1/3 savings in time!
I save about 45 minutes charging my cell phone and about the same amount of time charging my iPod. The nice thing is I can charge two items at one time and with 15000mAh I have about 30 hours of charge time available at full charge.
It’s also nice to know if something happens I have a little over 40 hours actual talk time on my cell phone with three cell phone batteries and the Anker. That’s over 1100 hours standby!

That's pretty cool, looks like about $50 bucks on Amazon.
Well what do you know....went and looked at it and , Guess what?....The ads are showing up now....Fancy that.
-
Yeah, you can get the 4500mAh for less than $30 though. Just depends on what you need and how much you want to spend.
-
That is a cool little device! I need one of those for the ole BOB!

Another good find Rick, thanks.

I've got a similar wee thing. It essentially a battery charger that can also be used as an external battery for anything with a USB port. I take it with me when I go camping. it's a very handy little thing. Next on the list is a flexible solar panel to charge it with. Then I have the non USB stuff covered too.
-
Flexible solar panels require to be 2x the number to make similar voltages as hard panels. They are more expensive. I choose a hard panel at 5-6volt at 1amp and inserted a diode protection for it. its just a few ounces and its very powerful as it is the latest generation. More power than GOpro.

As it turned out WOO I got a 7W 5v folding panel kit. Works like a charm.

Your hearing aid has blue tooth streaming?
-
Mine do. I have a device that links my hearing aids to the telephone as well as to my iPad. It's the only way I can hear on the phone.
-
Wow, technology at it's best huh?
-
It's pretty amazing. I can listen only and speak through the Bluetooth device if I choose or speak and listen through my hearing aids. I got these last year and it was the first time in over 20 years I could actually hear music. Life changing.
