Survival Belt

One piece of survival equiptment that I have yet to test is my Paracord Belt (I don't dare take it apart) Does anyone else have a paracord belt?
Cabela's says that it has up to 100' of 550 cord. I am sure that it depends on what size that you buy.
I bought the size large and I can tell that there is plenty of paracord if I get into a survial situation.
Plus I could use some of the cord to make a new primative belt if I needed too (got to keep the pants up you know!)
I replaced my shoe laces with paracord but I thought that it would suck if I had to us the paracord and then couldn't hike out of there.
I was going to make my own but decided to just buy the Double Cobra Belt.
It will be with me everytime I am in the woods. I like it!

Made a couple of them several years ago. Cheaper Than Dirt sells 1000' spools of real parachute cord:

There are quite a few folks on here that have made them including myself. I don't remember exactly but I think around 90 feet in mine. Something like that. I included some fishing gear embedded in the weave. It was a real PITA braiding that much. That's an expensive belt for paracord but probably worth it if I had to do it over.

Not at that price they aren't. If you look at the title they are all commercial. Not MIL-C.

I like the belt concept for rugged construction and emergency utility. I use a standard military "rigger" belt myself but I've always got about 100' of 550 cord in my ruck. Some guys lace their boots with it and leave the inner "gut" strands in. If needed, the inner strands might serve the purpose, leaving the outer intact for keeping their boots laced until they got home.

I suck at making paracord stuff, although I have done a few rifle slings;
This one I was trying to double op the cobra, ended up with a double tied together, sorta, back to a single.......Got to be almost dead, and needing to get down a cliff to take it apart....LOL

I have tried making paracord items before and I would rather just spend the money and buy the belt.
I will be glad to have it with me.

Paracord belts are the best thing I sell, they are a beachball to make but they are worth it.
As far as using the paracord from the belt, it should be a real emergency to use the paracord from the belt. Key is to take more paracord with you than you need and you will not need to use your belt.
