Stay safe Nell. Make sure you check in with us later so we know you're OK.
I'm taking you with me Crash, one good thing about a laptop.http://www.wdrb.com/story/16575665/live-stream
Cool. Are you in a storm shelter?
No,not one in place here right now,but the house has a large area underneath, and part of that is situated over a gully that we can fit into, heading that way right now,the BF just got back from getting the neighbor (wheelchair bound) in his safest area, and just pulled in.
FYI,we are along I-65 in Clark county just south of the Scott/Clark county line
Keep your head down....nasty weather.........
Stay safe, looks nasty
The weather passed over my area. I know just south of me got hit pretty good. That is where Kyratshooter lives. Has anyone heard from him???
I hope you are doing okay, Nell.
Also, does anyone know if Rick's area was affected?
We had tornado warnings out around 2:30. We had a heck of a rain and hail. Oh hail, we had it twice, but nothing happened. Lot's of wind right now after the front rolled through. I had the hong on the line and had to bring it in. Looked like the sail off off a three masted frigate.
Hope everybody comes through it OK. The town of Marysville was completely destroyed.

I'm glad you're okay Rick!
Still no word from Nell or kyratshooter?
Maysville is in Nell's area. They had some pretty nasty stuff roll through down there.
Has anyone been in touch with Nell? Just saw some news footage from her neck of the woods.
Hope all's well Nell!
hope Nell& kyratschooter is well
Glad to hear Nell is doing OK. KRat - hope you are as well.
We're under a tornado watch here - but about 8 tornadoes have touched down in south Georgia, just to the north of us. I think that we'll just get thunder storms and some wind but will certainly keep a close watch. Temperatures just hit 88 here. That, coupled with the cold front make for a little unsettling in the atmosphere.
I was in the middle of it too! All the news media is focusing on Indianna but we lost 14 people here in KY.
They claim there are no athiests in foxholes. There are d@%n few of them around tornadoes either!
A mile up the road a subdivision of 300 homes is flattened. A path is smashed through the woods from here to Illinois. Power poles are down for a mile each direction of the storm path. Fires are burning (homes and barns) and no one can get to them because of the debris. When I finally got out, about noon today, emergency workers were removing a downed tree beside I-75. The shock of that is that there is/was not a tree standing within 1/4 mile of that part of the interstate!
The state police have closed access to the little village at the interstate. They are not allowing traffic in or out. They are turning folks around and sending them packing. I had to go in and out on the back roads, and they are partly blocked with debris. Made me glad I have moderately high clearance and 4wd. I generally claim my 4wd is not for off roading, it is for "bad roading".
It rolled in on use quickly. I lost half a tree in the front of the house, fortunately the limbs fell and blocked the road instead of landing on my Jeep. Missed that sucker by about a foot. The blast that took it down was in excess fo 100 mph. We got out and cleared the tree from the road in pouring rain. Wouldn't you know it would hit the day after I put my chain saw in the shop! Nice thing about living in my neighborhood, I had four guys standing there in the middle of a tornado helping clear the limbs practically before they hit the ground.
Power went out and stayed out until 2am. No signil on the cell phone until this afternoon and internet access just came back. Coleman lanterns and the propane Buddy Heater kept me in heat and light as the temps dropped overnight. I did not even bother with dragging out the generator. I figured I would do that this morning if the power was still out. I keep a lot of ice in the freezer and the food did not even begin to thaw. Unfortunately I was out of icecream. That is always my first step in any emergency, eat the icecream before it melts!
Something to add to the preps, Reading material! I was caught in between library books. I also discovered that the radio is useless in these situations. Most stations are now relays of national networks and NOTHING interferes with the top fourty and a steady stream of commercials. Half the nation was blowing away and all they had was what Obama had for lunch at the "top of the hour news and weather."
Glad you came through unscathed!! That's a SHTF situation and your preps obviously helped you get through it. Stay safe!!!!!!
Hey Kyrat! I'm glad to hear you made it okay! Sounds like other then the tree, your property is alright? Glad to hear your biggest issue was lack of reading material! Welcome back!
