discount camping in KY
KY state parks have a discount deal going in April 2012. Anyone in the sourrounding states can take advantage of the cheap rates too. April would be a good time for a get-together at the cheaper rates!
Anyone in KY interested in a short notice spring camp?:scooter:

So is there a difference between resident and non-resident, rates?
I like camping is Wisconsin state parks, but a lot of sites are first come first choice.

KY is same fee for in state or out of state residents as far as I know. We are also a reservation only system. You make your reservation and pay on line. You also must buy two days on the weekend; FS,SS,SM. During the week you can buy one day at a time. On the weekend of 27-29 you buy one night and get one free.
Most of the parks also have as much or as little in the way of conviniences as you want. You can get a primitive site with no electric or water, water only or an RV pull through. If that is not your cup of tea you can get a room in the lodge and eat at the restruant. KY is one of the states that raises their own buffalo on park property and offers buffalo as a regular menu item in their eateries. Several of the parks offer a buffalo buffet.

While I'd love to, April might be tough for me to pull off a trip to KY. Hopefully a bunch of more local folks will be interested in going.
