The Plants Are Confused

Here, like many places the temperatures have been very mild this winter. We've had a few cooler days, but for the last few weeks daytime temps were often in the 70's. Yesterday was great weather for a hike with daytime temps in the 50's. Today I woke up to some chilly temps, so headed to the backyard and spent most of the day out there working. The first couple of pics show that some of the plants are confused about the weather as well.

It's not that extreme here, but this morning we had a dusting of snow.....on the dandelions and daffodils.

We've had a couple weeks with daytime highs in the low to mid 60's. This morning, it was 27° and the wind was gusting to about 30mph. Brrr. LOL

today started at 16 got up to 40's

Crash is that last pick a banana or plantain tree?

If so I didn't even know y'all got them that far north. Will it survive that freeze?

We had a similar problem over here, the snow and freezing temps of the last week or so has nipped those plants back. With luck they will come back when they should. Last year most plants and trees were early by as much as three weeks.

Banana. We've got a few planted in the corner. They'll probably survive the freeze, but it does seem to affect fruit output. The last couple of winters were a bit much for them, so no fruit. Hopefully this year will yield some.

Here's what they look like when it's not freezing. The fruit we get up here is probably a bit smaller than down your way.

We have a camellia that is in full bloom now for the last week. Last year it bloomed in march.
