Well I watched both hours of it and most of them seemed at least some what normal. However the loonies who think they don't need to protect what they have are in for a very rude awakening if or when the SHTF.

I agree. Now that they have broadcast to the world all their friends that have snickered behind their backs will their next best friend or long lost relatives. Its like winning the Loto, they come out of the wood work. Depending on the scenario, it could be real bad. It all depends on the reaction and behavior of the general populous.
Its one thing to have prepped and completely down play it, you still are faced with a risk from zombies hoping for a possible score by taking anything and every thing from you. Putting your prep plans out there is an invitation to anyone who knows. Consider the huge rise in weapon purchases in the last year. Self protection is one thing, how many are already looking at their new toy as a method for the forced acquisition of your stores. It would be nice if things would stop at rude.
I dont have a problem with any of it , the guy from texas living in conex boxes great idea , however shooting a .22 at the joints on the ends of the box wont be where the fire is coming , shoot near the center and a round will go right through the 1/4 inch steel, what was on mind the time about this guy is ,he must be loaded with money , because he has all that land ,all those vehicles , the fuel for those vehicles , the weapons and ammo and the food 9a 15 year supply? thats alot of jars , jars are expensive when you have that much and all that meat isnt venison , these guys are rich , same with the Utah people ! Now the others a little more close to home , the girl from Houston , I cant believe "she works out daily,runs" and yet at 6 miles she was "pooped" ,please ! The guy from LA , what they didnt tell you is he lives in a mansion on top of the hill overlooking the ocean , granted he is smart and I would definitely want someone in my team with botany knowledge (food ,medicine), they told him you might need to carry a weapon , that old guy aint stupid , he carries when he walks the canals, but because the liberals watching in Cal would turn him in to the feds for doing that he couldnt say that !
All in all each person had a particular reason , oil, earths shifting,economy,etc , trying to make these people look like fools , but like the girl from Houston said about her friend , "when shtf ,Ill be eating my regular meals , you'll either be dead, or prostituting your body for beans and rice, laugh now because the last laughs on me"!!!!!!
I recorded it, should get to watch it tonight. But, I did learn something along these lines yesterday. If you store Brussel Sprouts, you cut the Zombie invasion force in half.

I've always contended that there are 4 types of survivors of an aftermath
1: Those who did nothing and expect the Govt. to bail them out
2: Those who make all kinds of preparations as far as food and water but no means to defend or protect it.
3: Those who buy only guns and expect to take what they need from the above group.
LASTLY
4: Those who make all the necessary preparations to survive including defense of their property and life.
Well I watched about 10 minutes of that show, and the only thing good I can see coming out of that broadcast, is that maybe more people will prepare, and take some of the heat off of us! And it will for sure bring down more heat on those people in the show!
So I guess it's all good either way.
Uh, Sarky. Did you do the math calculating the weight loaded on those Orions? I just have this vision of a P3 reaching the end of the runway and plowing through some farmer's field and hanging a left onto the state highway.
I watched both episodes. I was mostly pleasantly surprised by the content. Going in I figured they would make these people out to be nuts. Overall they seem to be portrayed as pretty normal. I thought the self proclaimed "Liberal" folks in New England that had the beautiful farm and refused to have any means to defend it were kooks, "Oh we live in a nice community and we'll share with everyone". Noble thought but class "A" stupid. And I agree it seemed like many of them had a singular catastrophe they were prepping for.
Worst thing about the show was some of these people make me feel woefully unprepared despite all I have done! I need another 30,000 pounds of food!
How in the world does the one chick who lives in her apartment workout for 4 hours per day? Honestly? I don't have anything against bigger girls, but still 4 hours and she's still on the thick side, that doesn't seem to add up. And she also plans to use her body to get what she needs, i.e. prostitution, that doesn't seem like it would go well, especially with the mass chaos, and ppl not feeling they had much to live for.
The people shooting .22's at their house seem to be a bit over the top. 50,000lbs of food? Granted, it is for 22 people, and with all of the shipping containers, I'd assume they have living quarters for all 22 people, but still that's a lot of people. I can only assume a power struggle would soon follow in the weeks after. They spend 40-50hrs per week in prep and I thought it said they prep food daily. So, how much are they currently eating? Are they going to be able to eat the food they've prepped in time before it spoils. Canned food does have an extended shelf life, but I thought they said they've been prepping for quite a long time.
Haven't seen this series yet...might watch it, but if anyone asks..."I don' no nutin', bout no preps".
