Beginning to NOT like people.

Went to check the mail today, and on the way down the cement steps to the road, I must have caught some ice, because down I went. Flying about 8 steps down...I just lay there dazed and not sure if I could move. That was bad enough...but to see 2 cars drive by with the driver and passenger laughing and pointing at me...while I lay there NOT MOVING...was enough to make me want to give up on man-kind all together. :( Why are people so mean???:crying:

Glad you're at least sorta all right, take it easy tonight, you're gonna be sore for a few days. Take something for the pain BEFORE it really sets in, get to the hospital if anything seems not right, bleeding, nausea,blurred vision, etc. Yeah, people suck

That's why I like my dogs better than most people....

Trabitha, I fall a lot due to neuropathy in my legs and feet, I am used to it, but I will never get used to people literally walking over and around me....one day, it took a homeless person to help me up...the folks in the suits and busy downtown lifestyle just walked on by and gave ME dirty looks for being a drunk or druggie.......the homeless person really felt bad...and helped me up and made sure I was alright...I thanked her back...I took a few steps and noticed she was sitting in a doorway... I went back and asked her if she was hungry...she said yes, so I walked her down to a diner...paid the cashier $25 and made sure she got a meal and a to go meal out of it..... she said TY and I just went on my way...

People just do not take the time in a busy life style... now granted....after SHTF..... I do not expect to get helped and nor will I be helping anyone.....but in general life style, I try to help anyone I can that seems to be in trouble or even stuff like loading groceries in a car for a person in a handicapped spot, changing a tire for an old couple etc.......

My GF says I am so confusing at times.....as I am such a curmudgeon and then I go and help someone.....she says my curmudgeon is an act....little does she really know.......* runs away laughing like a circus midget on really bad Sheen crack.....Mooooohahahahahahahahah------------WINNING.....

I'm glad you are okay kinda sorta. If it makes you feel any better I would have helped you up and got the mail in for you.

You know, when it comes to people, nothing surprises me.
I always stop, always help with strollers up and down the stairs, help the blind across the street and give up my seat to older people, people with kids and pregnant women. It's just how I was raised.
A lot of people just don't know any better, they aren't able to empathise.

See??? THIS is why I'm here with you all. At least here I can speak with people who not only see what I see, but have empathy. ;) You guys make me happy. ;)

I knew a guy that would check "Rescue Annie" for a wallet, before he started CPR........You are correct there are bass wholes out there.

I pulled over while driving not two weeks ago when I saw an elderly lady fall. Sadly, many other cars drove by. By the time I came to a stop she was up dusting her self off, but I still asked if she was ok. Luckily she was. I'm also one to stop when I see things. Hell, I'm one of the few people I know that will not only hold doors for others, but hold them for a while or run up to it to get it open for someone with a stroller or walker. Most people do suck.

Hope you're ok and glad to hear I'm not the only person who actually thinks of others.

Funny story, last year I am driving by this church on my road. An elderly man mows the lawn there and was working on doing so this day as well. Except he was laying on the ground next to the rider. I slowed down real slow looking for movement, didn't see any, looped through the parking lot and back around still watching for movement, still none. I al like oh S@#$!! Park in the ditch and run across the church lawn looks like he is partially under the mower, starting to run through a first aid plan and stress levels going up. I get to the mower, he pulls his head out from under it and says "Can I help you?" I was just a wee bit embarassed! Still glad I stopped though, it could just as easily have been the other way.

I hope you're okay. Some people have no sense of duty of kindness. Don't let it make you a cynic like me. There are still good folks out there, just not many of them apparently.
Get a box of Epsom salt and soak in a bathtub for a while. Always helps a little with my soreness.

If anything doesn't seem right, get checked out. Head and back injuries are no joke.

I did a similar thing last year only it was me. I was face down on the front lawn when my neighbor came running over and yelling my name. I raised up my head and she said, "Are you okay?" I said, "Yeah. I'm turning the water off at the meter." I chuckled about that for a few days.

My late wife, God bless her soul, had a little saying about this condition of the human nature. Something like this would happen and she would turn to me sweetly and say:

"People are no damn good!"

I have found her observation quite true.

I can not understand why some people lack that tiniest shred of decency to at least stop or slow down to check a person who seems in distress. I drove it hard into my kids that it is their duty to help others who may be in trouble or hurt, or at least try to the best of their abilities. I know my son had been "ribbed" by his friends when he was younger because he would stop and carry an older persons groceries.

Something my grandfather on my fathers side onced said always stuck with me. " No one should ever suffer or die alone" , he lived through some hard times and knew this to be true from experience.
