Shuttle Launch
I saw that JIC had a thread going with the live feed from the Space Center. Pretty cool. After I finished up a few stops today, Mrs. Crash and I took a leisurely drive down the coast on A1A. It's not the quickest way to travel in Florida, but it sure is pretty. We made it as far as New Smyrna Beach and stopped to watch the launch. It's about 50 miles from where we stopped to the launch site. Even at that distance you could hear the suttle leaving the pad.......of course you didn't hear it until the shuttle was out of site, but it was pretty loud even at 50 miles. I still had a little trouble holding the camera at the right angle - but here a few pics.

I was in Tampa when one of the shuttles took off. I happened to be on the 14th floor and that side of the building. All I could see was a distant plume. It was even too far away to see any exhaust flame bit it was still pretty cool to know what it was and watch how fast it moves. Very good pics!
