Okay, here's my first post. I don't claim this idea is original, in fact I've read similar ones on this site, but it's just a daydream type of idea I've had for a long time so let me throw it out there.
Let's say you win/purchase a "Robinson Crusoe" vacation. The idea is you will be marooned on a deserted island for let's say 60 days. The island is tropical, or at least sub-tropical. Due to the climate, cold weather should not be a factor however rain and storms would be. The island offers good fishing (crabs, kelp, clams, etc.) plenty of firewood and shelter material, a source of impure water (must be boiled), maybe some bird-life, but little else. The deal is you may take anything that will fit in a waterproof tote, say 24"X12"X8" deep. You're not going to be able to fit too much in that space so you must pack carefully. You cannot take any communication, electronic or mechanical items. Aside from the items in the tote, you may only take the clothes on your back. What do you take?
I would probably divide my things between food, tools/utensils, and personal/hygiene items. I would certainly take a pot of some kind to boil the water. I have other ideas as to what I would take, but I'm interested in yours. What do you think?
