Made a kydex holster
Got another knife in the mail today with a sheet of kydex. It was supposed to be black, but it looks brown to me. Of course I'm color blind. I decided to make a holster for my new Taurus 709 with the extra kydex. Not perfect, but good practice.

The sheath. Made it so it tucks inside my pants in the small of my back. Fits good and stays put. Didn't do very good with the eylets though, guess it takes practice.

Looks pretty good from here !

Thanks. Great thing is it only took an hour to make.

What do you do, Press it around the Gun and heat it ??

I made a paper template first. Then cut the kydex to the rough dimension. Then heated the kydex in the oven at 375 degrees for about 5 minutes and slid the gun in and pressed it between two pieces of foam. That got the overall shape then used a heat gun to fine tune the fit. Hardest part was cutting the kydex with a razor.

I love making kydex sheaths. I can bang one out quick. Leather is torture for me at least. Nice job Doug! To cut kydex some guys use tin snips.

Looks good Doug.
Your Kydex looks tan to me.

Doug you could probably make some of these. A guy I know uses it for concealed carry. With your shirt tucked in you can only see the two clips. I am going to order some popular pistol profiles one of these day and make a few. He says he paid 80 buck at a gun show for this one. The back is leather btw.
