62" Take Down reflex deflex longbow (PIC HEAVY)

I did a build-a-long on another site and though yall may want to see it as well. I just included the pics in order that the bow was made. I made this bow from scratch including the laminates inside the limb. She is 62" long, 6" brace height and 45lbs with traped limbs.

The final product except for being sealed. I trapped the limbs as well. That means the cross section of the limb looks like a trapazoid. this makes the limb lighter and faster.http://i822.photobucket.com/albums/z...s/101_0376.jpg

that's a beauty. i keep meaning to finish the takedowns i started. not enough hours in the day, days in the week and weeks in the year these days.

lol I know what you mean ! I have a few more projects running; the primitive fly tying vice for YCC, a stitch and glue kayak, Knapping, etc

i haven't even started the strip or s&g boat projects. a couple of years ago i bought a couple hundred dollars worth of west systems epoxy and two routers for the purpose. sadly, that stuff doesn't keep that long in our summers.

last year, i did start the frame [cedar] for a novel cardboard kayak. i should at least get back to that one.

I build and design strip built kayaks, I have pics too, but I dont have the time to build my next one before I need it. A S&G is so quick and easy. I have the hull made now. It is one of the pics above. Just need to put the bulkheads , pedals and deck on. Then the rudder as it will be loaded heavily.

I am on vac for the month so I try to get all my hobbies in order when ever I am because once I am back at work I dont have as much time to focus on everything I want to do.

The bow turned out fantastic.
