Heineken pot
Has anyone ever made a Heineken pot? I found a homemade cooking system on a site for cooking with freezer bags using a Heineken pot.
Check it out and see how well it works: http://www.jumpcut.com/view/?id=691D...16000423CF037A

That's an interesting concept Mbar*, I wonder if you are limited to an alcohol (or similar) stove. Given the thin aluminum in the can I wonder if hot coals would burn through it.
I googled Heineken pot and came up with a lot of threads. It looks like they use a rotary can opener to remove the top. Then you can put the lid back on.
I have never seen so many people dumping perfectly good beer on the ground as I did in some of the You Tubes that came up. I found it vulgar, profane, and quite frankly, a good reason to ban the internet. What a waste of good beer!:(

I drank mine...wasn't going to let it waste. The guy you see dumping it, makes hundreds of them to sell. If he drank every can, I think he would have a problem with production! Beer is good fertilizer for the yard as well (One can for the yard and five cans for you while fertilizing the yard). Here is his link to the pot and stoves he makes.
I used an esbit stove and worked fine. What I found out about the alcohol stove, is they burn at higher altitudes better than other fuels. As for the can in the coals... you could add a handle to keep it just above the coals with a stick.
