just a few " to do " things, off the top of my head

tan/cure animal hide ( something small - rabbit )

solar cooking / water pasteurization.

braiding ( a belt?)

work on my " cordage making " skills

improve my sewing skills

eat ( inner ) tree bark

spend a day & night in the bush WITHOUT my eyeglasses / contacts

try more flintknapping / pressure flaking

make a makeshift knife using handfiles

Clean out the workshop, screen and put rails on a 40' deck I roofed, check out the swing for nap type comfort. The swing will probably take most of the summer.

Hoping to close on a small farm in Upstate NY for my retirement (3rd) in the next couple years. Learn more about steam engines from a cousin and get a small one working for alternate power on the farm.

Get state certified for water treatment.

Visit another part of the US.

Have a relationship with a girl worthy of me.

Get in better tone and exercise more.

Meet some WSF friends via jamboree.

Get a better job or a raise.

Hope I can get atleast half of these.

Coot - Don't you just hate the tiny, incremental adjustments you're forced to make on a swing. I loathe that. Adjust, try it, adjust, try it. I'm sure it will take you all summer before you finally get it just right then it will be winter and time to take it down. Dang!

I think I have the right for me to be picky. Right now, I have 3 girls interested in me. 2 of which are 17 (I'm 24) and another one that is 22 and married. Yeah, I will have to pick them carefully.

I sure wish I had those problems. Guess I would be forced to live with each for a few weeks just to make sure. At my age one the age of two of them would get me locked up, or dead. Been married 45yrs to the same one, good luck!:innocent:

replace all the posts under my camp so it doesnt shift in the winter.
hunt in at least 3 states.
watch Washingon Dc get the enema it needs in November.
tan the hide of an animal I take.

Spend more time on the water with my fly rod.

Take the kids camping,the wife too.

Spend more time watching turkeys so i have a better chance at one this spring.

Work on my Chevy.My daughter wants me to take her to her prom in it.Still have a few years to finish it.

Age appropriate and not married would be a good start.

make some sort of primitive fire with all natural materials. Not likely!

make potable water in the bush without chemicals.

eat a couple new wild edible plants.

make cordage and baskets/ containers.

Camp two to four weeks without bringing in any source of meat, veggies, shelter, water or fire. Come late spring I'll hopefully be able to do them all but fire.

I saw a story about gun ownership in NYC and it is theoretically possible. There are all kinds of checks and courses and rules but if you are willing to invest the several hundred dollars and months of training, etc you can own one. It needs to be locked up all the time and so does the ammo and they have to be locked seperate..etc,etc. but it can be done.

Take husband on his first camping trip.
Return home from afore mentioned camping trip with a measure of sanity and husband still breathing.:innocent:

Learn more wild edible plants.

Add to edible landscape project.

Bite the bullet and get a couple of higehr priced prep items.

I'll think of more later. Right now I'm ready to hibernate for the winter.:)

I'm ahead of the game one one to do, got my AR build done last night.
Now I have about 5,000 round of 5.56 brass to process and load, 2,000 of .308 and 8,000 of 9mm. That should keep me busy for a while.

Then would a 7 year age difference be one and a half generation gap? Lol. They are not of relationship material to me. And I have already went through one married woman with two small kids wanting an affair before. She didn't get it either, atleast not from me. Still looking for a worthy one though. How old is your daughter? :innocent:

Attend the jamboree, get together or whatever we call it in Missouri.

Take a couple of good canoe trips with my kids.

Try to con my wife into at least one canoe trip.

Get a couple of knife projects completed.

Take at least one solo canoe trip with a minimum of equipment. food, etc. and practice (more like re-learn) some of my bush craft skills.

Increase the size and production of my gardens.

Can, freeze and dry more of my garden produce.

Fix the carousel in my smoker.

Raise the coach house to replace the sill and set it on a foundation that has to be built under it.

Convoluted but definitely not impossible.
The kind people at the firing range help with applications and snags.
I only wish I had a wider range of stuff to pick from and more time to decide, but something is better than nothing.

No I haven't, but I'll check it out now if that's what it covers.
I generally try to stay away from books that'll get me even more upset than I already am. Especially if there's nothing I can do about it.

My list for 2010:

Finish my bachelor's degree (and start my master's degree)
Hike Rock Castle Gorge again - maybe twice
learn how to make a good deadfall trigger from memory
explore the rest of Cave Hill (a big, definitely non-commercial cave about an hour and a half away)
spend at least one night in the wilderness with nothing but the clothes on my back and the contents of my pockets
get a lot closer to God.
