We've had some discussion in the past about what information should or should not be posted. Some feel comfortable posting pictures of themselves, while others do not. Some share personal information, some do not. There are so many "social networks" out there that people share a lot more information than is shared here. And......a lot of employers are now looking at the web and finding some rather bizarre pictures of their prospective employees. Or confessions of alcohol or drug abuse. Once it's on the web, it's there for eternity....or a really long time.

Lots of folks forget that the internet is in fact "real". You have to take all the same precautions that you would in real life. I am almost certain that "we" (no,not WE) would not put a sign in our front yard that we were planning to go on vacation,nor would you take out an ad in the local newspaper with pictures of your indescretions on said vacation. Please, use just a little common sense

Twitter is stupid, you heard it hear first.

Eventually people will tire of the stupidity of it, and it'll die. Perhaps hastened by the arrival of the Next Big Thing.

what exactly is twittering? I have heard of it, but I am not sure what it is. Is it in on your computer or your cell phone?

I would like to try "sexting" though...if anyone wants some naked pics of me just ask!

LOL...the young fella is doing well. Currently he is battling his first battle with a cold and an ear infection. But he's growing and crawling and alot of fun.

No I don't twitter nor use a social website. I think it's more for people who like to gossip or chat, and I'm not one of them. I used to IRC in the late 1980's (I'm old skool). IRC on the internet is still around and is pretty much the same as texting on a cell phone.

I routinely Google names, etc of all perspective employees prior to offering an interview.

Twitter is run by 35 people and has zero revenues... not much to gain by a suit. Plus, the statistics I've seen, (they release zero info) is that a HUGE percentage try it for a few days and never do it again.

I don't think that's exactly fair. Google the name that is the quote for my "signature" and see how many you come up with. I don't think you will find the real person I quoted at all.They are on the internet.

The name, coupled with other information on the application will probably allow you to narrow it down quite a bit.

I have their resume, home address, phone number, approx age, etc... I'm pretty good at it.

It's been said before on other threads... it's not "your job" it's the employers... and I want/need a happy and strong team.
