Some have confessed to having been long time loiterers, peeking into the Wilderness Survival Forum, with the doors locked, and the lights down low.

What was your M.O. how did you do it....??? Did you use search function...? Did you read the Blogs.....? Did you discover a existing forum member, like Phil and read all his posts on any subject....? Were you a closet Wareagle Grouppie.....:)? Did you just read the Daily Posts.....? Did you read the first post and the last post of a thread, and leave out the middle.....:innocent:?

If someone smarter than me wants to turn this thread into a pole.....OK by me.

I was fleeing from another survival site at the time....screaming with fear from all the 2012, aliens, and government plots. Actually, I think I googled it. I watched from afar until I knew it was safe.

oh, and btw, I have stayed because y'all are so darned entertaining....and while I am in the process of job searching this is a nice distraction. I took off from teaching for a few years to focus on my kids. Now that the lil' guy will be going to school full time next year, I felt it was time.....sooooo, I sent out my resume last month, since they usually don't start hiring teachers until after the legislature closes up shop. Unfortunately, they just laid off around 200 teachers in the area, so the outlook is bleak at the moment, despite my being extremely qualified in my area of expertise. Hopefully, y'all won't be subjected to my endless chatter for too much longer.

It is NEVER safe here, make one ittie'bitie comment about Nell, and the pack will rip there throat out. What was his forum name.....? Or ask your neighbor there in Idaho.....how safe it is........(search Spud).

oh my, I just did a search on your dear friend, Spud...fortunately, I live in SOUTHERN Idaho, well away from those nutjobs. Furthermore, I would like to state for the record that I am originally from TEXAS. I am not a part of the Aryan Nation. I have no intentions of joining any communes (but see nothing wrong with blowing up a few cows in their vacinity). Now I see why so many people here have been avoiding me :(

Thanks. Good luck on the job search. As far as the endless chatter, no body has told me to shut up yet, so obviously it's a non-issue. :) Just watch out for the ban hampster. If Rick let's him out of his cage again there could be chaos.

Before I joined, I lurked for a bit, reading and getting an idea about the "characters" on site and usefulness of the information exchanged. When I realized that they played a good verbal volley ball game, and good stuff was shared (information of course), I went "public". Have enjoyed my short time here a lot.

Well I still loiter, but then again I'm a member of 5 different forums (on other topics) and only post on two on a regular basis.

Basically I've just searched, or just gone page by page in a few forums like General Survival Discussion, Survival Kits and Products, and General Emergency Preparedness. I've made some notes, found links to other site's that I've bookmarked (for gear generally), etc.

There is a lot of good information here, and I've only really scratched the surface I think. I just tend to prefer to read and learn.

Rest assured I will ask questions if I come across something I don't understand, or share whatever insight I may have on a subject.

Thanks Lorna,I was fine,the deer didn't fare as well,the truck had quite a bit of front end damage,raised my insurance $30 a month....ggggrrrrrr

One of the VERY FEW good things about living in Mass. is that accidents with deer or wildlife are never attributed to driver fault and aren't surchargable. In 2006 a deer vs. my car = a totaled car. Paid in full. Even the rental.

Cop said it wasn't my fault,but my insurance said I should not have been driving at that time of the morning (3:30 AM),didn't matter if I was on my way to work....I don't have that insurance company any more,I switched to geico.

Nell you should of told the insurance company that you would be looking forward to them sending you your paycheck since obivously they wanted to pay you instead of having you be out on the road at that time of the morning.:tt2:

WTF? R U Serious? I would have contacted a lawyer. Guaranteed you could have found someone to take it, even if it never went to litigation. If you can't pay me "because I shouldn't have been on the road at that time of morning" I'm gonna sue your *** till I recoup every last cent from every payment I've ever sent you.

Sorry Nell, I have to agree, and I think that you have 24 months in which to file the action, and you might be able to file in small claims court.

Geico is VERY good. A deer committed suicide by jumping in front of my old Jeep Cherokee. That was a Sunday morning, insurance adjuster looked at it Monday, and I had a check on Tuesday.

My family had all been with State Farm, and they switched at the end of the week to Geico.

My family had all been with State Farm, and they switched at the end of the week to Geico.

State Farm was who I had as well,and not only did I switch,but about 14 friends and family members switched as well,had SF for years no problem,but that was uncalled for,and around here,there are too many deer to have to worry about your insurance rates jumping each time there is a suicidal deer running around,been pretty close to hitting about 5 more since I hit the one last year,could not imagiune what my rate would have been had I actually hit them,and still had SF!
