I’m moving state-to-state and wondering if a tow dolly is okay for my RWD car. Or should I just pay for a professional car hauler to avoid transmission wear and tear? Looking for the cheapest safe way.

For a 1,500-mile trip with a RWD car, I’d honestly skip the tow dolly. Leaving the rear wheels on the pavement for that distance can cause serious transmission wear unless you disconnect the driveshaft, which is a huge hassle. If you're looking for the cheapest safe way, searching for state to state car towing (https://comparethecarrier.com/blog/state-to-state-car-towing/) options often shows that a professional car hauler isn't much more expensive than a rental once you factor in the extra gas and stress. It’s the only way to ensure your car arrives without mechanical damage or uneven tire wear.
