so i was at my sporting goods store thursday night picking up some more essentials (unless you ask the wife) and i saw a firestell called strickforce in nice clear packaging for 29 dollars good thick mag bar twice as thick as my swedish fire steel then i saw on the shelf behind some stuff a brown box with the words strickforce on it so i opened it and it was the exact same firestarter but the price was 17 dollars so 12 bucks extra for the packaging what a rip off

Yep, and on alot of food, instead of increasing the price, they'll decrease the size or amount in the package. It can be pretty decieving.

The bugger of it is that it is completely legal, as long as the prices are clearly marked. My wifes favorite indoor sport is shopping and she will check every single item to check for those items lower priced. I personally don't have that patience. And Snakeman is right, they are slowly decreasing food product sizes with out reducing prices.

WE, it is the same company but last years stock. I bought 2 myself at the same store as I was passing through (in Sudbury?) They even have a place for tinder in the hollow handle.
It pays to look around.
