Hello all, just an average joe that is worried about where our country and our world is headed. I was raised kind of old school so canning/gardening and hunting/fishing were part of my upbringing. I'm not hell bent on stockpiling twenty years worth of food or umpteen thousand rounds of ammo but look at living off the land and farmsteading more as an opportunity to live a good life and raise my kids in a good environment. I think there's far too many people that don't even know what an honest days work is really like. I'm stuck in a small town right now with my house for sale and am going to buy some land when it sells (I know it could be a long wait but I'm paying off debt and building equity while I wait so it's all for the better anyway). I'm super lucky to have a really good job that will allow me to do most of the things I want. Besides being the 'ole country boy I also have developed some sideline specialties including wild mushrooms, flintknapping, wild edible plants, and medicinal plants. I'm looking forward to conversing with you folks and hope I can add some usefull info from time to time.
