funny how people are today too dang nosy for my likes or maybe its that whole entitlement thing again but when i bought my homestead last year and my routine changed people picked up on it so i would tell them i moved out of town, i would tell them i moved to whoville. oh yeah theyd say which road really none of thhere who buissness i'd think to myself and if i told them who rd they would want to know where at on who rd, now really i barely know you and its none of you f ing buisness even if you say politley then get offended, now supposedly that is how you get to know people by sharing info about yourself but in my opinion you should mind your own buisness, i'm of half a mind(here come the jokes) to say how much money ya got in the bank how bigs your johnson or hows your wife (you see where that ones headed) maybe this falls under the friendship thread again, but what happened to respecting peoples privacy without thinking them rude(not that i care). ok so give me your take on this my pack mates( and oh yeah tell me where ya live):D

I live in america, people are inquisitive until thier questions lead to them doing something for you. For instance... when someone asks me questions I hand them something to carry or I'll give them a 5 min. lecture on how i need them to loan me that $50.00 or i ask them to come by the house so that we can "talk" about it while they help me dig irrigation lines for free. (Gets rid of them every time!)

Lots of people actually think they are being nice by showing an interest in where you live. They wouldn't visit on a bet. Some would so I am always vague to the point they don't think I can find my own way home. If they don't shut up then you tell them you moved to get away from everybody and what they think about you don't hurt. Remember the old saying You Can't Fix Stupid and ignore them.

well that brings up another point people asking how my weekend was or how was your christmas, whats it to you i wonder, i think they just want me to ask how there weekend was and i truely don't care if you had a great christmas or a bad one i don't know why i am that way or how to change it even if i wanted to, i don't care what people think of me, i don't need there help, i have moved countless times by myself a good dolly and some will power, ah heck whatever i'm heading to the bush for the day

I think that these are just ways for people to engage/start a conversation other than the weather.
Like me in another thread asking how Norm was, it was an interest.
Just being social, I guess...just like I wouldn't have met my wife if I hadn't introduced myself to her. I was lucky a fine woman :)

Just kind of finding a common thread in order to pursue a more relevant relationship.
Wow, WE, I ask BJ at work how his weekend is every Monday, also ask a few others. But then, I am generally interested. That is just how I am.
It is kind of funny though as I do know what you are saying. You can ask the same question many diff. ways and get many diff. responses, by the same person. I have found that if you act and are genuinely interested, people just love to talk.

frank your a funny guy, i f we live close enough to have a beer toghether means then that we live the same lifestyle with the homestead and all then i am more than willing to help or ask for help matter of fact my neighbor has a saw mill and i am fininshing my stalls in cedar off the property so i asked to borrow it, baby steps i know

People can ask whatever they want, it's up to me what I'm willing to tell them. I always get a kick out of it actually when someone says "can I ask you a personal question?" I'll say "yeah, but I might not answer" and usually I don't.
Why I like the bush, so few humans around out there.

When I meet someone I know I ask "How ya doin'?" or "Wut up?" (depending on their age) out of habit. We have a staff member who likes to mess with our heads & has a good sense of humor. He's in his mid-50's & heavy-set, & his stock answer is: "Not bad for an old fat man.":D
Both ignorance & apathy seem to have taken over our country. When someone took a survey to ascertain if this was true the largest percentage answered: "I don't know & I don't care!":rolleyes:
Anyway, if you don't want people to know answer with a funny response, & it sounds like you already did! (Whoville?)
Here's some "tried & true" question stoppers:
1.) "Why you askin'? You writin" a book?" (If they say "Yes") "When did YOU learn how to write?"
2.) "I'm movin' to a new area where the government is relocating all of the axe-murders, serial killers, & psycho-paths. Guess they got room for one more. Wanna come over?":eek:

I think there is something wrong with my computer, I understood what Remy posted. Nice post Remy. And I understood all most all of the words, and only read it once.
WE - It's all part of the social interaction. It's a lot more civilized than walking up and sniffing your butt, which is what dogs do to say hello. I doubt very many (if any) of those folks really care where on Who Rd you live. They are just trying to be polite and feign an interest in your well being. (sniff) (sniff) By the way, have you been eating field mice again?

Mine is the one in the middle. On my left is the couple with the Great Dane, on the right are the military couple with the psychotic Boxer dog. By the way, if you come over and I'm not home and you see a guy in the back digging up my fence. Don't approach him. He is brain damaged and thinks my fence in on his property. Just stay back and call the police. They are familiar with him. The back door is unlocked so just go on in and make yourself at home, I'll be home before long. If the little white dog wont stop jumping up on you just throw him out back with the big dog.

7 years ago when i was a nomad i would have been there in about 2 to 3 weeks just mosey on over across the country only needed the slightest bit of an excuse to pack er up and head out but linda has cured me of my sinful ways now i have a big beautiful property and a big beautiful responsibility to go along with it, but ask her she'll tell ya i've never been so appy

I forgot to mention that the Chugach mountains are in the front yard and Knik arm is in the back yard. The place is one mile from the highway. Take a right just before the creek.

Wareagle, I think we both have a clear understanding of who each other is now. And a clearer understanding of ourselves. You grew when you did your spirit quest, even if you told yourself it was a survival test. It really was a Spirit Quest, even if a subconscious spirit quest.
I have over the last year had to come to terms with a spawned out body, that will continue to weaken over the next unknown amount of years. This also is a spirit awareness, and acceptance of the eventual returning to the wilderness soil.
The Wilderness will teach those who will hear. We have have both learned to be quiet, and hear the lessons the wilderness offers, hear our individual special lesson. Each one step closer to being "Peaceful Warriors".
