I'm a science fiction and survival guy. I have a wife, a cat, and a Mossberg 500. No, I don't have pistol grips on it, but I do have a short barrel since my condo is only 1000 sq. ft, and I'll need the buckshot to spread as much as possible if some unlucky bloak chooses the wrong condo unit to break into.

I would like my first shot in my Mossy to be a Less Than Lethal round, but they are illegal in CA if you can believe it!?! Check Penal code 12.600 if u don't believe me.

WOW. I come back after just a few days and this many greetings!!! I am overjoyed and tears are streaming from my eyeballs.

First of all, I'm sorry for posting my URL in my post, I completely understand that rule, and secondly, I again understand about no politics. I sure am glad I posted in the newbie section first before hitting the ground running and posting in some other thread. I may have been hunted down and had my genitals sliced off with a ginsu(sp?).

Anyways, I don't think my retreat locale would be Dantooine, it would be far too of a remote location to make an effective demonstration against the Russians. Honestly, I would be bold enough to do Coruscant. Of course, it would depend on our current situation.

But with sci-fi aside, since I'm in CA, I think just an hour or two up highway 50. My buddy has a cabin in Ice house, it has good water sources, you don't have to worry about flooding, it's hard terrain for enemy to move through (with heavy brush, trees and mountainous terrain), it would be a great retreat spot.

A quick funny story I heard (don't know if it's true) was that in the 50's & 60's, with nuclear war the talk of the town, Chico, CA was one of the Government retreat locales, and supposedly buried underground somewhere in Chico, CA, there are missle silo's, that have since been emptied of course, but back then they were ready to rise out of the ground and fire if the need arose. Supposedly Chico was a perfect location because it was far enough away from SF that it would be unaffected by a nuclear attack.

Please tell me if I'm supposed to be more vague than I am being. I still don't know this forum all that well.

The Greenbrier is a Mobil four star and AAA Five Diamond Award winning luxury resort located in the town of White Sulphur Springs in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

The Greenbrier is also the site of a massive underground bunker that was meant to serve as an emergency shelter for the United States Congress during the Cold War.

You all should wiki the Greenbriar Resort! It's a neat story!

I wonder if all or most government facilities have an underground source for its workers. Well, it would probably be too costly, but I bet some of them do!

Welcome home. Buying a silo without missiles is better than just buying the missile. Those dang things are HEAVY and I got tired of dragging it around. I tried tying it to the roof of the van and now I've got a dent in the roof. Go with the silo.
