intro from a lurker....

Hello!

I've been browsing the posts on here for almost a year now. Name is Ed.
Sorry it took so long to post. I spend many hours a week on various forums, as I'm sure most of you do. There is only so much time. Nice board here and good info. Have learned much and been directed many places... Will try to be a little more active. Always looking for new, fresh and unique perspectives.

Little BG on me... I'm in Central Maine.
Have been into survival/self-sufficiency since me, my sister and my dad got lost in the woods when I was around 12 or 13, and spent a miserable night in the cold with nothing... sucked! Ever since then I never go into the woods without certain items. Always tweaking what those items are. Half the fun!
Have a small farm here (mainly horses) but have raised goats, rabbits, chickens, pigs, etc... try to be as self sufficient as possible.

Me and the missus are avid hunters and I collect (accumulate) firearms.
"survival" guns, single shot shotguns and old military bolt action rifles are my current main passions.

Look forward to getting/giving some good knowledge on here.

Welcome and what's this about other forums. I keep hearing those rumors. Is it true. Are there really other forums? Personally, I think the virtual world is flat. If you try to go out there and find other forums you'd fall off the edge!
