Turnagain Arm National Heritage District, I'm moving

Some U.S. Senate something just decided that I needed to live in Alaska's only "Heritage District". Don't know what it is, But there is ten million dollars grant money for those who live in it. Maybe "Hopeak's Bear Viewing Bar/Whiskey Emporium and Whorehouse". Kind of a 1889 dance hall motif. And the "Boyscouts of America" did not want this place for free.

Hopeak - all those years ago when you set up your homestead in Alaska you probably hoped you were doing the right thing. Every day when you do your walk about on the mountain you are pretty sure you did the right thing. Now the federal government has put it up in bright lights for you....HOPEAK DID THE RIGHT THING!

No, not at all. I'm just saying that from the pics I've seen and the posts that Hopeak has made, it seems as though he lives in a beautiful place. Now the federal government seems to have said the same thing....it's beautiful.....and worth some $$$$$$.

I think you are spot on, Crash. What I don't understand is....I am in the middle of the "Chugach National Forest", and they (The U.S. Senate) hand the "Turnagain Arm Heritage District" thing to the National Parks Service to manage....????:confused:
