Hello!
I stumbled upon this forum while searching for details of a trap I used to catch a mouse running around my work area.
A little background on me...
I grew up in the hills of West Virginia where I spent most of my time backpacking, hunting, fishing, camping, caving and did a little rock climbing. With the abundance of wildlife and national forests in West Virginia mixed with the knowledge I gained from the numerous survival books I've read, I developed a solid foundation in general woodland and cold weather survival.
I joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and since then I have been able to further develop my costal (Camp Pendleton, Ca) and desert (Mojave and Syrian/Arabian) survival skills.
My current duties in The Corps are that of a tactical networking specialist...A.K.A "The computer guy". I guess it's somewhat ironic to have a thorough understanding of such a technical field as well as a deep passion for such a "primitive" field. But I would imagine most posters on an internet survival forum could relate to that.
I've been pushing go to the Marine Corps Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) school since I joined two and a half years ago but no luck yet. Hopefully I will be afforded the opportunity when I finish this deployment.
I look forward to being a productive member of this forum and sharing whatever knowledge I have, as well as learning from the other posters.
Cheers,
Bob
