Last night I found another survival forum, and I must say I am a bit taken back by the extremes to which some people there think. It's got a lot of information on there, but some of it is just....woah.

Anyway, this is the nicer one. Right guys?

There are plenty of "survival sites" out there that are populated by stark raving moon bats. We even get a few on here every now and again (aside from our resident moon bats). Seems as though they don't last too long when they realize that not many share their apocolyptic eotwawki approach to life.

Yes, that's it exactly. Many of their forums dealt with SHTF and the other big acronym. One can imagine and assume they are going to react a certain way, but when it comes down to it happening life often throws a curve ball. It's a bit silly how extreme some people take that stuff.

Yeah there is other survival forums, I choose this one because everyone is mostly laid back, and is doing there own thing. It's wierd, it seems like everyone knows each other and we are a communtiy in this forum.

We are a community of like minded folks who are concerned with each other and our neighbors. After all what good is surviving any thing if there is no one else to enjoy it with?

I agree klkak. Hope things are going well for you too.

This is as klkak said, and it's a "Wilderness Survival"forum. Not a shtf site, even though we do address that situation sometimes.

That's why I do like this site, it's not the SHTF kind. I don't need that crap.

I've seen some of the SHTF sites. Kinda dark.
I'm here because I spend summer vacations in the Santa Fe wilderness, and I enjoy learning outdoor skills and bushcraft.
I think it is important to have a good emergency plan, including some back-ups and redundancies. This site keeps me thinking about those things.
TEOTWAWKI and SHTF survival sites - I'm sure they have some good points. But they usually seem a bit conspiracy theory / manchurian candidate / anti-government centered. I may be a bit anti-government myself, but I just think our gov't isn't competent enough to pull off the conspiracy theories.

I like it here. As with any forum, try the advice, keep what works.

I have been downloading the heck out of some of their downloadable files. I know our fellow here with SafeZone has some downloadables, but Ive gotten a lot off the other place. I used to work as a paramedic on a part-time basis, and for some reason military medical books have interested me since then. I got a few other interesting ones too.

Last year I used to be part of a traditional bowyer forum, and a couple of people were talking about the draw weight able to kill a human, creepy stuff. I stopped forum chating and then I decided to join this one. The opinions here drift out and everyone here is different that is why I like this fourm.

Well, we may be weird but at least we're not strange.
Really, that's the kinda BS that makes John Q. Public think we're all part of some militant group waiting to overthrow Big Brother.
Relax, I didn't name names, but you know who you are.lol

Better now, Bibow?:D

We're a community here. Yea, that's it. And we're not dark at all. (note to self: Mind control software seems to be working well).
