What's your favorite movie?

The movie for crash thread gave me this Idea. But what is your favorite movie? DO you like Martial arts, thrillers, action...I can't think of anymore because those are the only ones I like. Personally I love any movie with Jackie Chan in it. ANd my favorite movie is a Foreign made in korea. I really like The Hunted and iRobot though. What do you guys like?

Adventure is great, and the king of adventure is Indiana Jones, I'd say.

I am big into movies and TV, mostly sci-fi, so it's nearly impossible for me to pick one favorite. But to start with, I will say that one of my favorites is "Aliens." That's the one where the Colonial Marines go to check out why they lost contact with the colony.

Open Range is a great western. It's got to be my favorite. Just because it seems so gritty and realistic. The last shoot out in that movie, is great!

The Emerald Forest, The Maxx, Dogville, Pitch Black, 28 days later, Sin City, Secretary, Children of men, and Never Cry Wolf...and maybe Perfume story of a murderer but that was really disterbing lol. the night I rented Perfume my brothers rented 300 (which I never saw but heard it was kinda sick) but anyways thay thought Perfume was was more sick and disterbing. I dont know why but every now and then I like a movie that really disterbs me.

Sands of the Kalahari (1965)...My favorite movie hands down...mostly about a plane crash and the drama of the survivors and living off the land in the Kalahari...when I had a laptop out bush I used to watch this all the time till it broke, wife got sick of watching the same movie over and over but I can't get enough of it...perhaps because I hunt for food in the desert I find it so entertaining as that is the point of the movie...anyways thats my fave movie no contest to others...

Gunga Din, 1939. (Survival in the face of overwhelming odds.)

Shane, 1953. (Survival of the fittest.)

The Searchers, 1955. (Survival of two men on a quest, in a harsh and deadly environment.)

Lots of good "survival" flicks out there, and not just those made in the last 15 or 20 years. :thumbs_up:

I just recently saw this documentary and was truly touched. It is about survival unlike any I've been able to even contemplate. It's heart wrenching and uplifting and very different from what we usually see.
And it's real.

I love so many movies, but I will mention a few. Richard Harris in a man called horse, Max Von Sydow in Needful things.
Interestingly enough Max Von Sydow is the only actor to both play Jesus and the devil and do it well by the way.
Last of all, the Lord of the rings trilogy and the first three of the Star Wars movies with Harrison Ford.

I have to agree with Hunter on this one, Jeremiah Johnson was a great movie! I recently watched " The Road " and that was to me, a very realistic movie, what did you think?
