As most know I've got a broken ankle. Well day before yesterday I stopped taking my pain meds after a couple weeks of using them. Last night I could not sleep. I am having some uncontrollable muscle jerking. Also I am achy all over and sick to my stomach. I generally just don't feel very good. I stopped taking the pain meds because the pain in my ankle is almost gone. I've been taking Percocet 5/325, 2 every 4 hours. If one of the Higher medically trained people on here could help I would appreciate it.

Klkak, sounds like you may be having slight withdrawal, Percocet is highly addictive. They gave it to me for my hip but I would not take it, see to many get hooked. May be a good idea to go see your family doc, or at least give them a call, and see what they have to say.

One of the early symptoms just be for excessive foaming of the mouth, and explosive diarrhea, is the patient becomes very possessive of his firearms, even the ones that are unfinished.........:)

For muscle cramps or twitching I take magnesium pills. For twitching you might try magnesium or potassium. Bananas are a good source of potassium but pills will give you more than a banana. I wonder if the Percocet removed much of the magnesium from your system.

I just got off the phone with my doctor. In typical fashion he told me to quit being a baby and suck it up I'd be fine in a day or so. He also said if it gets to tough, puts some hot sauce on my finger and rub it in my eye it'll give me something else to dwell on. What a doctor. I am feeling better today and did get some sleep last night.

He soumds like a doc that used to be in this area, he lost his license for giving persciptions for narcotics, all you had to do was ask. That is where I seen the withdrawal symptons, his pt's after he could no longer keep the in thier drugs. Glad to hear you are feeling better.....
