New to this forum but not to Survival. I used my knowledge in Afghanistan in 04-05 being attached to 3rd and 7th group in the mountains we had to rely heavily on the enviroment and land.

I am drawn here because I have always had a interest in the outdoors. This interest peaked when I read my first book by Tom Brown on wilderness survival. Ever since I have been hooked and have always wanted to learn more. I believe I and a pre- Man vs Wild and Survivalman enthusiast.

I hope to learn more from you all and look forward to getting to know some of you.

Thanks for the warm welcome, is much appreciated. I hate coming into a forum with
no posts lol. I am a active forum kinda guy, so I guess for right now I have the nympty title until I prove myself worthy I suppose.

Its great to see other veterans on here, I believe in some since of the service, survival is always in the back of your mind. And you learn to practice what you can and prepare for the worst. I believe in preparation and the saying we have is " Train as you fight ".
My only downfall to this is you cant really put yourself into what most would call a survival situation, but you can try to simulate one.

I believe in catch only what you need and preservation. Just like a nympty I did not put my skills above in the first post so I will do it down here,

My knowledge stems from real world challenges and books.

What I have experience in,
Shelters
Making Fire
Water Purification and location
Packing for TEOTWAWKI situations

What I need help in,
Food preservation methods
fashioning tools and survival knives
better skills in tracking, ( you can always get better )

So I hope this helps everyone kinda see where I am in my knowledge of the land.
