Hello. My name is Joey. I have been learning tracking, trapping, fishing, hunting, and primitive skills wilderness survival (among other things) since I was ten years old. (And camping since I was two) I am now 21, and I just got home for good from the Marine Corps where I served as an armorer.

I believe in being able to go out in any situation, and not only survive, but flourish. You cannot fight nature, or you will lose, simple as that. Anywhere and everywhere you go, you must constantly attune yourself to your surroundings and adjust yourself and your expectations to your environment.

You must also constantly test your limits and know them well. Know how long you can go without food or without water before it starts affecting your thinking, then you have a baseline and your own, personalized list of priorities.

It's not that I don't like equipment, Lord knows I have more than enough of it; but I like being able to take almost nothing and know that the rest of my gear at home consists of luxuries, not necessities.

Greetings & Welcome. From what you say about constant attunement to your surroundings you are on the right track! Nature can teach us a lot if we approach it with the right attitude. I look forward to reading your posts.
