where to source good paracord?

Back in the day I had this stuff issued to me, but it's been a while...

From what I've seen, there is a lot of cheap paracord out there these days that is inferior to the milspec stuff.

Where can I source the good stuff? Preferably in Canada or the USA.

Real Para-cord is 'MIL-C-5040H'. Did you notice at the bottom they say:
"DO YOU NEED MIL SPEC MIL-C-5040 COMPLETE WITH CERTIFICATE? CONTACT US FOR PRICING". Just a heads up.

Don't get over wrought about that. There is little difference between 5040 and 550 cord produced by the same manufacturer IF they are military suppliers. Except, of course, the price. Some folks will argue about it until they are blue in the face but I've discussed this issue with a military supplier and they don't retool to make different quality cord. They still guarantee the 550 lb rating on 550 cord so why would you need anything stronger than that? If you are paying in the $40-50 range for 1000 ft. spools I guarantee you are buying 550 cord. True 5040 will run you in the $70-75 range per 1000 ft. Prices are retail.

Thanks for the link. I am gonna cut a couple of those figure 9s out on a scroll saw and if they seem to work I will give it a go with aluminum or metal. What can I say, I'm cheap:D
