I spent a few hours over the weekend learning Morse Code. Don't know why it struck me, but I was surprised at how simple it was to learn. Now I've just got to work on the speed a bit and since I'm not looking for a career with Wells Fargo I figure that will happen over time. Here's a website that has a free program which allows you to develop at your own pace.

I started learning Morse Code on a 220 VAC set. Bad choice. The flash burns have healed nicely though.

Very cool and very interesting. This takes me back to when Scouting was mostly about the outdoors. Remember Semaphore and heliograph signalling? This was all before cyberspace and was used by just about everybody back then who was needing a method of talking long distance. I found the 1st link posted ironic as it read "Used by more than 10,000 people!" Given the large number of US Citizens that's not very many!...:cool2:
