I dont want to make this a political thread, instead my observations or otherwise..

If I dont make sense, forgive me, a light amount of ETOH on board here... (bad day at work)...

So anyway, Im waiting on the president to come out to make his speech, and I see thousands of people waving these little American flags... Thats all good.

'Cept, I bet they were made in China. The thought turned my stomach.

Anyone else have the same thought? Stupid curious post.. please ignore if you dont think its a worth while post.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Sorry, I don't understand your concern. If a product can't be made economically here we shouldn't use it? We are a global community. Folks don't buy strictly from their family. They don't buy strictly from their town. They don't but strictly from their state but they have trouble with something made in another country. Seems kinda strange to me.

Give it a few years and let China's wages equalize with us then everyone will be saying, "I don't buy anything made in Africa. It's all junk". That's the next 3rd world manufacturing market. We lived through made in Japan, then made in Korea, we'll live through made in China.

Had Japan not entered the automotive market the big three would never have improved quality as quickly as they did or contain prices as well as they have. Competition is a healthy thing.

Here's the thing: If it were made here, no one would buy it, it would be too expensive.
When we go out of our way to save money on stuff we don't think, hey wait this was made in China, I better spend more 'cause it was made in the US.

Don't worry folks....those who voted for him will get what they deserve.......the down side is we will get what they deserve too

that's not fair; I buy strictly from left handed electrical engineering enthusiasts who garden and live in my home town.

EB I agree with you up to a bit. Rick I guess we will as they say, have to agree to disagree. This country has lost so many manufacturing jobs over the last several decades it has lowered our GDP so much I feel we are turning into a third world country. I'm one of these guys that have been trying to buy American as much as in can. My wife and I shop at Kolhs and you can not find an American product there which really peed me. Got to go, I'm still in hospital, waiting for discharge as I am going home finally after seven days.

I'm a Case collector...
but the knives that I USE are made in China (except the Esee, which is on my belt, right now).
I have friends who won't shop at Walmart...I missed the part where Sam Walton was Chinese.
When I bought my last house in Phx, the roof had to be replaced before the loan would be funded. The lowest quote was $4,000,and I didn't want that old widow to pay that, so I went to Home Depot and hired some roofers...
$900.00, sack and all...not including the lunch that we provided.
On to bigger and better things...

An additional thought. Watch out for the next target to go up on the 2nd Amendment. Who's going to stop it - Eric Holder???? Be ready to picket your Congressman and Senator!

Yep, there was an election. Yep, some people are happy and some are sad. This forum is not the place to delve into politics. This is the outlet that many of us come to to get AWAY from politics.

I think I originally stated it was not a political thread, it was about Americans waving flags most likely made in China. Please do not put words in my mouth, and no... Im not a zombie, Im just a concerned citizen. It was a silly observation and thought, nothing more nothing less, I assumed by the way I wrote the OP that it would have been obvious but maybe not so much for some.

When you call people that disagree with you "clueless" and "uninformed", I consider it political. You wouldn't be name calling if it were simply a discussion about quality of products.

On the bright side........At least now we can watch TV, or listen to the radio without having to watch/listen to some hack lie to us.

Respectfully, I feel you are misinterpreting what I say. Please do not put words in my mouth. I am assuming the flags are not made in the U.S., I never said they were. I assume some people are not informed about another country's stance on human rights and other concerned issues, I never said anyone that disagrees with me is ignorant.

You are free to disagree with me and my ideas, when I post those links it is with the intent to explain where my ideas come from.

Twisting my words or attacking my intent is counter productive. I can see now it was a mistake to have made the OP and I now regret it.

Please accept my apologies, I intended it to be thought provoking rather than a source of conflict and personal attacks.

So now we see why politics are not discussed, as there always is bad feeling, and resorts in discourse.

If politics are your thing.....I am sure there are plenty of places to go to express your views.

I'm done.
