Back to Ya on the fall wishes! Certainly more comfortable here in Arkansas, and yes looking forward to the campfires and all the good friends and catch up stories from the long hot summer.:thumbup1:

Getting a bit cooler here in east Texas but not the fall I remember from living up north. News this morning said probably be in the 90's next week. Beats the crap out of those triple digits we've had most of the summer though. Nice thing is it's rained twice in the last week. Sure was looking forward to that part of fall.

I am most pleased for my horses, been a long Hot! summer. Planning to try and bushhog tomorrow and roof the shed of the guy with the tractor Sunday. Either way it comes out of my back pocket.....

With fall there are the squashes and pumpkins. I ran across a roasted seed recipe:

1. Rinse and then soak your seeds in a bowl of brine. 1/2 teaspoon salt per cup of water for a few hours.

2. Rinse again and dry the seeds on a towel for a few hours.

3. Season. Sweet: honey, cinnamon, sugar.
Spicy: olive oil, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, salt, pepper.
Zingy: peanut oil, soy sauce, crumbled seaweed, ground ginger, spicy red chili sauce
Addictive: Melted butter, slices of garlic, sea salt

4. Roast: bake at 300 F. for 10 to 15 minutes, toss them around once or twice.

Had a dreadful crop of Squash. Anything that needed a bit of heat was a sore disappointment.
