The judge

I'm trying to create a need for a taurus judge, I do live in snake country so I would carry it 1st round shot and the rest .45lc's. Does anyone have one and use it as a general carry around gun? How useful is this gun?

Great gun for a revolver. Instead of carring .45lc, I use the shells that have three disks followed by some shot made by Winchester. I use it for all around pest control and a back up to my normal conceal firearm.

I agree with SARKY. Higher Quality, .45acp cartridge smaller, so you could carry more, and a universal cartridge.

I have the feeling that for less than the price of the S&W product you could buy a Judge and have a good gunsmith spin .020" off the back of the cylinder and run a 30-06, .308 or .45 acp chamber reamer into each chamber and accomplish the same effect.

I think Winchester calls them Personal Defense or some such. That's all my bride has in her Mossie 500 in .410 and the really pattern nice for that range. That's if we had guns at all.

Have friends that have the judge and are happy as a frog on a lily pond. It's all up to what you like. I carry a 357 and in the field I carry a snake round as the first popper then a hard ball, then a snake and three more hard balls. Here at home I keep her loaded with six JHP.
