Last week I was 4 wheeling with one of the neighbors on the trails along the river where the cabin is located.
He has been keeping them mowed, and we were mapping them.
We came to a landing spot on the river, to find 10-12 bags of garbage tossed on the bank and in the river.
As he had just mowed it the day before, it was fresh garbage. Not from canoers or hikers, but bags of household trash!
They would have had to use a 4 wheeler or carry by hand off the county road, about 500 yds to get there.
Seems like a lot of work to go thru when you can just stop at the township garage and use the dumpster?
Heard from him today, he had picked up some of it and found SS statements, bank records and other paper work in one of the bags.
Contacted the local Sheriff, and they were gonna send out a Deputy to check it out........Hope they catch the bass-hole, and make who ever go back and clean up the mess!
When I find out the outcaome, I'll post it.

When I find out the outcaome, I'll post it.:boxer: Kind of reminds me of that song called Alices restaurant. you know where the guy takes his axes, rakes, picks, shovles and other implements of destruction and loads them up in his micro mini bus to pick up the letter that he placed under the pile of trash.......:taz:

Could the river have dropped it there? Is it possible it got swept away upstream someplace and deposited there? I hate that people do that, too, but I have to tell you when I was a kid stuff went straight out the car window. I never gave a thought to what happened to it after that. Ignorance of course. Once I matured and learned the impacts I never did it again and taught mine never to do it. I think some folks are just ignorant of the impact. I don't think most are trying to be malicious they just don't know any better.

No, this was hauled in all in a pile and "fresh" so to speak.
Like I said, someone had to "Work at it" to get it there..........
Then let's hope the Sheriff works at it, too.

Update; Sheriff sent out a Deputy, took pic's, gathered up the documentation, called the people whose phone bill was in the bags.
Lady answered the phone was not co-operative at all.... dropping the F bomb several times with Deputy, and hung up on him.
She had been given the opportunity to clean it up.....but after she hung up she was given a citation to the tune of $250 bucks.
10 large garbage bags were filled and removed from the river and landing.
Just goes to show there are some uncaring and nasty people in the world.
....and if you are gonna litter, don't leave your phone bill in the garbage......

You should have found out where she lived so you could leave her a flaming bag of dog poo! That would be a fair trade.
Better still....10 large bags of flaming dog poo. One for each of hers!

You could play Santa. Collect all of the trash and dump it down her chimney on Christmas Eve.
And in other news.....
Local man found amid a pile of garbage after falling off roof early Christmas morning. Police found Hunter, a SE/SW Wisconsin native, lying in a the midst of 10 bags of garbage. When asked what he was doing all he could reply was, "Medic".

I was glad to hear the Sheriff took this seriously....I have been on the river clean up crew in the past, but a lot of that stuff was due to the big flood that happen every so often.
But to just dump stuff on purpose, when it can be disposed off much easier, at the township dumpster....is just plane wrong.

Do ya gotta pay at the town tip? We have to get weighed in and weighed out. They sorta frown at you when your truck weighs more going out than in...
That lady ranks right up there with people who leave couches and old TVs at the clothing donation boxes, and the people who dump old household appliances on the long road through the woods that goes out the shooting range I frequent. It costs money to get that junk hauled away.
