Need help with Stevens Model 53-B

My father=in-law gave me a few guns, one being a Stevens Model 53-B. I can't seem to find a serial number on it anywhere. Was hoping someone could tell me where it might be of if it even had one to begin with. It looks really old, but not sure how old.

Serial Numbers were not required by law untill 1968.

The 53b was introduced in 1937 and discontinued in 1947. It was considered a cheap SS starter .22.

Average price on today's market is $50-$100.
